Designed by Adalberto Libera in 1935, the Rationalist Palazzo delle Poste reflects the Fascist Period under Mussolini. Located near key Roman landmarks and a desolate park, the building features imposing orthogonal lines, heavy stone, and a striking oval glass extrusion.
Tasked with retrofitting luxury apartments within the post office, I was intrigued by the site's duality. The exterior exudes power and severity, but stepping into the lobby revealed a stark contrast: flowing curves, skylights, and luminous marble. This unexpected lightness and elegance inspired my approach to transform the space while respecting its historic character.
